This was another one of those books that just made you long for a delicious lemon poppyseed muffin. The bakery was full of whimsical recipes and rambunctious characters. I liked how all the people interacted with each other. And even though I could tell what the plot was doing long before the characters caught on, it still was an enjoyable read and I wanted to see if things would go the way I imagined. It was also interesting to see how much trouble the kids got into when trying to solve a few simple problems with their magical baking book. There were definitely moments of hilarity and then sweetness as the novel slowly examined the lives of the people in this town. I liked it and I thought the ending was a bit random...but then I realized there would be a sequel. Still a book I'd recommend.
