Book Review #991
Pictures of Hollis Woods by Patricia Reilly Giff
Rating: three stars (out of four)

I fell in love with the imagery of this book. I also enjoyed the simplistic and yet poignant descriptions of the characters and setting. I liked the main character a lot and wanted her to finally find a home. Throughout the whole course of the book I was yearning for things to be made right and I was worried that I might not be satisfied with the ending. But it ended well and I didn't expect the slight twist with how things came to be. I liked the quirkiness of the characters and how they were fleshed out and alive. I loved the writing style of this novel and felt like I was lying in a hammock hearing a story from a master story-teller. I would recommend this book.
