Book Review #955
Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin
Rating: three stars (out of four)
This book had a pleasing format - I loved the simplistic illustrations and the different fonts used for the main story and the side stories. I thought it was a sweet story, but it wasn't astounding. The interaction between the main plot and how the author wove in a multitude of other stories was well done and enjoyable. I think if I had read it when I was younger it would have felt more strange and magical. This just wasn't my favorite story. I'm not sure if I would have given it the Newbery Honor, but I'd still recommend it.
