Book Review #949
Lily's Crossing by Patricia Reilly Giff
Rating: two stars (out of four)

I really liked the cover for this book because it felt haunting and provocative. The story was interesting and provided a different take on historical fiction, but I didn't feel as involved with the characters or plot. I felt like there was just a little something missing from this story that would have made all the difference in the world. I enjoyed the book, but it didn't stay with me and make me think. I'm not sure why it won the Newbery Honor, but I'd probably recommend.
