Book Review #349
Rapunzel's Revenge by Shannon Hale, Dean Hale, illustrated by Nathan Hale
Rating: three stars (out of four)

I was surprised when I heard that Shannon Hale was going to try her hand at a graphic novel for her next book, but I was also excited.  If there was anyone who could rise up to the challenge, it would have to be Shannon.  I thought the idea for this story was clever.  I liked how Shannon took seemingly insignificant ideas and wove them into plot-twisting tidbits that you exclaimed over when you finally saw how they would affect the story.  Parts of this story made me smile, some made me laugh out loud, and some parts were bittersweet.  One thing that I did miss was Shannon's lovely descriptive imagery, with a graphic novel, the drawings convey the scenery, but I missed Shannon's well-chosen words.  I still thought the illustrations were great.  All in all, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend.
