Book Review #327
Scarlet Moon by Debbie Viguie
Rating: zero stars (out of four)
The story started out suspenseful and mysterious, making me wonder how the rest of the plot would unfold, but after a couple pages the shine and luster disappeared. I was annoyed with the characters and didn't feel like they were developed very well at all. I wanted to see more of their personalities, but the author just gave you a few interesting snipits and left the rest to your imagination, leaving large gaps where there should have been information. I was not pleased with how Ruth acted throughout most of the book, I thought she was either annoying or immature. I didn't care for how she and William acted together and I thought that their romance was a too passionate for only knowing each other mere days. It was all very unrealistic and made the book seem cheap and lame. The retelling of little red riding hood was an interesting take and while I thought it had all the elements to be a great story, it fell short several, several times. I would not recommend this book.
